A 1978 strike at an Iowa beef packing plant provided the inauspicious beginning of an incredible portfolio of art.
A testament to the power of hard work and determination, the Bogenriefs began by restoring antique stained glass windows.
Since their introduction to the medium of stained glass, the have catapulted forward and have never looked back.
Over the years, Bogenrief Studios has grown from a small house in Seney, Iowa to a studio with a national reputation for exquisite works of art in stained and beveled glass.
The studio's skill at creating hand cut and polished bevels became so outstanding that their work and expertise was referenced and featured in the 1982 book, "How to Work in Beveled Glass" by Anita and Seymour Isenberg.
In 2003, Bogenrief Studios took on the art of blown glass and opened their Blown Glass Studio in Des Moines, Iowa. They now have a full gallery of blown glass, as well as their newly added fused glass.
As with all of their artwork, they continue to push the limits of glass in this new found skill.
Our work has traveled from Florida to Hawaii and has been featured in both public and private collections.
